I remember as a kid, during summer break in the 1960's going down to Florida to see my Aunt. Our family always traveled by car, camping along the way. The land was always so different from where I grew up. Our flat openness was a stark contrast to the rolling hills of Kentucky giving way to the wonderful Appalachian Mountains. One of the other differences is portrayed here. The cotton fields of Georgia, with the workers toiling away, still picking by hand in the hot summer sun. Most all of the workers I saw were African American. Men and women both laboring away with the mountains in the background...I always wondered if they knew what was beyond the ridge...

Having grown up right smack dab in the middle of ole Abraham Lincoln's stomping grounds I have never lacked for ideas or inspiration being. I have always been creative, selling my wares as I go. I have worked with wood and restored antiques which in turn began a love of reclaimed & repurposed items. I am facinated with the story that lies within a piece, unkown at first glance.
