Description
To say that this year has been trying would be an understatement.
I did this piece as a gift for a dear friend, Christmas 2020. Even though I have never met Georgeann, I have found her friendship and caring this year especially, to be beyond my words. For that reason and so many more, I did this artwork.
The portrait was done from a small black & white school photo supplied by Georgeann's daughter. I imagined that even as child Georgeann would rather let a bird go free than dare to keep as a pet...and yet the bird sensing the heart of the young girl, would rather stay, as shown by the Yellow breasted Chat sitting on her shoulder.
Original artwork is pastel on a prepared hardboard panel.
